$tevoxcv – real name Steve Okolo – is a British Nigerian rapper based in Westminster, London. Steve has been recording music since he was 16. Now in his early twenties, he has developed a unique sound which he describes as a cocktail of Hip-Hop, Pop, and Afrobeats. In 2020, he released his debut project, Untold Stories featuring fan favorites like ‘Top,’ ‘Set Tings,’ and ‘Sisi Eko.’ In 2021, he shared two rap records, ‘Long’ and ‘Hypnotized’ which were praised by publications such as EARMILK, Link Up Tv, Lyrical Lemonade, Wordplay Magazine, Culture Custodian, and Raydar Magazine.
$tevoxcv returns again with released a new single titled ‘Life’. The introspective single comes as a follow-up of critically acclaimed “Hypnotized” (featuring David Meli) which was released in 2021 and praised by publications such as Rolling Stones and Link UP TV.
On the deep and intimate single, Life, $tevoxcv shares stories from his past while sprinkling motivational bars over the wavy production by Midasmidi x Lennox. One unmissable element on this song is $tevoxcv’s storytelling dexterity as he reflects on his worst days and best days in the short and punchy verses. For the rapper, “Life” is also an avenue to address personal experiences such as Imposter syndrome, adulting, success, and dreams.
Speaking on the new single, $tevoxcv said, Life is a reflective and vulnerable record where I speak on issues ranging from self-reliance to trustworthiness and my desire for success. It was created at a down point in my life, where I was dealing with a lot of doubt and not knowing what the future holds. I still do not know what the future holds, but I am in a much better space now, especially as I have got the opportunity to share this record with the world.”
