E3: What’s On Your Playlist (WYOP)

It’s a new week and we are back with this week’s suggestion of 5 songs you should include in your playlist (if you haven’t already). This week’s edition features a couple of tracks that are hot on the charts this week. Below are our 5 songs:

Pushin P – Gunna & Future

A new release from American rapper Gunna off his new album – DRIP SEASON 4EVER, he collaborates with Future on this viral song. The slang took social media by storm a few hours after the song’s release, despite people not knowing the true meaning of the term. Gunna, however, revealed the meaning in an interview with the Breakfast Club where he explained it as “simply ‘player’. You woke up in the morning at the beach, that’s P”.

Baddest Boy (Remix) – Skiibii ft. Davido

A follow-up to the release of his EP – God Is Bigger Than Man released in late 2021, this remix was one that caused a lot of positive uproars as Skiibii’s fans and supporters were more than thrilled to hear a Davido verse on the already trending single. Davido flowed so effortlessly on the tune, giving it an even sweeter vibe.

Barely Sober – Victor Collins & MARCO DON’T PLAY ft. Toyemusic

Off the 4 tracked EP titled All In Due Time, uprising artists Victor Collins and MARCO DON’T PLAY team up with Toyemusic to give us this melodious song. Released about a week into January, this single is one to watch out for all year round. These are definitely new artists you should keep an eye out for this 2022.

Odeshi – Alpha Ojini ft. Ogranya

This beautiful song was released off the Tears Are Salty For a Reason EP by rapper, songwriter, producer & engineer Alpha Ojini’s in November 2021. The song was brought back to our memory a few weeks ago when the official lyric video was released. Seamless collaboration with Ogranya, the song completely encapsulates the EP title with relatable narrations of the pressures placed on young people (mostly men), my family, and the society at large, to always be strong regardless of their pain & life situations.

Thunderstorm in Surulere (A COLORS SHOW) – Lady Donli

Nigerian Alternative R&B & Afrobeats artiste, Lady Donli brings her vibrant and eclectic vibe to the COLORS stage with the performance of this unreleased single, a teaser off his forthcoming album. The English and Igbo infused track is a clear portrayal of Donli’s diverse sound and musical experiences, and classic addition to your playlists.
