E1: What’s On Your Playlist (WYOP)

Welcome to our first edition of this blog series dubbed ‘What’s on Your Playlist’ where we suggest 5 songs from amazing artistes which you should definitely include in your playlist (if you haven’t already).

Peru Remix – Fireboy DML ft. Ed Sheeran:

Fireboy stole our heart away in 2021 with the amazing tune “Peru”. A few weeks to the end of the year, pictures of Fireboy and Ed Sheeran surfaced on social media, and an official remix to the song was announced. Leading up to its release, there was a lot of skepticism to how good the remix would be but once the song dropped, the doubts turned to positive comments as the seamlessness of Ed Sheeran’s flow was undeniable.

Run – Misterkay & Egar Boi:

This beautiful & soothing collaboration between Misterkay and Egar Boi is definitely a song you should have on your playlists. The Afro-soul single gives off a sense of calm with its spiritual and soulful elevation, making it the perfect first installation of the Bombshelter Discovery Deck Initiative.

New Government – Teezee ft. Prettyboy D-O & Kofi Mole:

Also released a few weeks to the end of the year is this astounding record by DRB Lasgidi’s finest, Teezee. With a feature from a popular favorite, Prettyboy D-O, and Ghanaian rapper, Kofi Mole, Teezee continues to define his place in the industry.

Dior – Ruger:

Ruger came into the music scene like a thief in the night honestly, and it’s been hit on hits ever since. In a follow-up to his ‘Pandemic’ EP, Ruger put out a 4-tracked body of work in mid-November dubbed ‘The Second Wave’. ‘Dior’ which was teased on social media ahead of the EP release has been an instant favorite since then. If you don’t have this song on your playlist, you are really missing out.

Fashion Killer – Ayra Starr:

Off her debut album ‘19 & Dangerous’, this mid-tempo tune is one of her best songs yet. With interesting storytelling and easy vocals, there is no confusion as to why Ayra Starr was the talk of the country last year.
